Abstract
The Maine Supreme Judicial Court yesterday ruled that C.N. Brown Co. is not responsible for damages arising from the fatal stabbing of Melissa Roy, a clerk at the company's store near the Lewiston Fairgrounds. Roy was stabbed to death during a bungled police stake-out on September 20, 1990. The court held that Maine's workers' compensation law bars lawsuits for work-related injuries. Details.
