Abstract

The Maine Audubon Society and the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine yesterday announced to their members that they will jointly campaign for new scratch-off lottery tickets that could raise $2.5 million annually for conservation efforts. The two groups will try to gather the 53,000 signatures needed to sent a petition to the Legislature, which could either approve the measure or send it out to referendum.
