Abstract

Perma Treat Corp. of Connecticut yesterday announced that it has agreed to purchase the Forster Manufacturing mill in Mattawamkeag, which made wooden clothespins before closing last fall. David Fink, president of Perma Treat, also announced plans to form Aroostook and Bangor Resources Inc., which will operate the mill and will work with the Springfield Terminal Railway to establish a northern Maine transportation and distribution center. Perma Treat has two mills and 23 employees in Connecticut, and expects to begin operations in Mattawamkeag with nine employees.
