Abstract

The Maine State Nurses Association, which represents around ten percent of the registered nurses in the state, yesterday endorsed U.S. represenative Thomas H. Andrews for the U.S. Senate, praising his commitment to providing health-care coverage for all Americans. Andrews' opponent in the Senate race, U.S. represenative Olympia J. Snowe, defended her own position on health care at a news conference in Portland, and released the names of 26 Democrats who make up the steering committee of Democrats for Snowe. Details.
