Abstract
Archaeologist Doug Kellogg and a four-man crew on Tuesday began work on an archaeological site below the Great Falls bridge in Windham, and so far have found stone tools and pottery from an apparent Indian encampment. The site is owned by Central Maine Power Co. (CMP), and this weekend the public will be invited to visit the site to observe the excavation. Windham officials decided to make the excavation an educational event, and CMP went along with the idea. Details.
