Abstract

The Portland Planning Board last night agreed to a $9 million expansion of the Portland International Jetport, provided plans include the construction of a new access road. Construction on the new road, which will empty onto Congress Street at the Elks Lodge, must start before the beginning of 1996, or the city will not allow the airport expansion to open. The expansion of the terminal is projected to cost around $9.3 million, $6.7 million of which will be funded with a $3 fee added onto the price of tickets. Details.
