Abstract

Portland police chief Michael Chitwood yesterday said that he expects that two of his top officers to depart soon for other jobs. Chitwood said Capt. Edward J. Googins will probably be offered the position to head the police department in South Portland, and said Deputy Chief Steven E. Roberts will likely be chosen as chief of the Westbrook Police Department. Officials in Westbrook and South Portland had no comments on Chitwood's comments.
