Abstract

Maine Department of Public Safety officials have purchased 545 road-spike mats, designed to end high-speed chases, at a cost of more than $230,000 in state and federal funds. The Maine State Police will receive 245 of the mats, with the remaining 300 going to county and municipal law enforcement agencies as needed.
