Abstract
The federal Environmental Protection Agency yesterday released a study that reaffirms the link between dioxin and cancer, and shows that dioxin exposure at some levels can cause reporductive problems, hurt the development of babies and interfere with the immune system. The results of the study will probably lead to tighter restrictions on dioxin discharges from Maine's paper mills and trash incinerators. Mills in the state have spent millions to reduce dioxin discharges, resulting in a drastic decline in doixin levels in fish. Details.
