Abstract
Portland police in May charged two topless dancers at Mark's Showplace with violating the the city's 12-year-old obscenity ordinance, and on Friday cited two dancers from The Male Express and the owner of The Cage on Wharf Street for a similar infraction. Mark's Showplace has challenged the city ordinance in Cumberland County Superior Court, and those who were charged Friday vow to do the same thing. The legal issue in the case concerns the interpretation of "simulated sexual acts," which all of the dancers allegedly performed. Details, definition of the obscenity ordinance.
