Abstract

Christopher Coughlan, executive director of the Maine Right to Life Committee, yesterday said that his group would fight any effort to impose restrictions on anti-abortion protesters. Four Maine physicians in recent weeks have announced that they will no longer perform abortions because of protesters, prompting Maine Attorney General Michael Carpenter to say yesterday that he was considering whether Maine's law needed strengthening to ensure women access to clinics.
