Abstract

Roland Kershner, 84, and wife Marguerite, 86, of Chesterville, have been showing their prize poultry at Maine fairs for 25 years. Roland specializes in Cornish bantams, and keeps a flock of 15 birds, while Marguerite tends between 35 and 40 silkies. The Kershners are just two of the approximately 125 children and adults who show chickens, ducks, pheasants, geese and other birds at Maine's 17 fairs. Details.
