The West End News began in February 2001 as the West End Times,, founded and edited by Ed King, from Portland, and continues in electronic format ( ).
West End News features Portland-based articles and interviews, with a special focus on the city's West End neighborhood (The West End is west of High Street, south of Cumberland Avenue, east of Saint John Street, and north of West Commercial Street).
Portland Public Library’s collection of West End News is complete, and begins with the first issue, February 2001. The hard copies are available in the Portland Room.
